Dr. Serlo is a staff member and provides patient care at three locations and is a member of the Chapel Hill North Carolina Orthodontic and Dentistry Association (CHNDA).
Dr. Serlo has studied scientific manuscripts in international journals and was a member of the board of the American Academy of Orthodontic and Dentistry Association (AADDA). In 2002, he was co-author and, together with Dr. Remy Coeytaux, first chairman of the Department of Dentistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is also the founder and director of a world-renowned learning center for 3D-based dental implants and surgical courses. He has been an associate professor of dental surgery at Duke University School of Medicine since 2011.
Chinese herbal treatments and now has the opportunity to perform acupuncture treatments and help patients use them to improve their health. He was the lead author of an NIH-funded randomized clinical trial that showed acupuncture is an effective treatment for chronic headaches.
After graduating, he earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed an internship in general surgery. There he obtained his doctorate in medicine with distinction and was elected Alpha Kappa Alpha. He also earned a PhD in dental surgery from the University of West Virginia School of Dentistry and a Master of Science in Dentistry from Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Mauney practiced as a general dentist for five years before completing a stay in pediatric dentistry in 2000 and earning a Master's degree in Public Health. After completing his studies in pediatrics and dentistry, Dr. Maunesy returned to UNC to earn his Master of Public Health in 2003 and his PhD in dental surgery in 2004.
He received his PhD from the State University of New York (SUNY) and his Master's degree in Optometry from the Optometry College in Pennsylvania. He has published several articles related to his research as part of his graduate program at UNC and has been observed as a media expert in publications such as the Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the North Carolina Medical Journal. Dr. Adigun has been an associate professor at the School of Public Health at UNC - Chapel Hill Medical Center since opening his own pediatric dental practice in 2016. She returned to UNC, sometimes teaching in pediatric and dental clinics and sometimes as director of pediatric dentistry.
He is a certified member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the North Carolina Medical Center Board of Trustees. He was instrumental in the development of UNC - Chapel Hill's Pediatric Dental Health Program and is the only certified pediatric dentist in the United States with a bachelor's degree in pediatric dentistry and a PhD in pediatric dentistry.
There was a time when complementary medicine did not fall within the scope of his optometric practice, but he was happy to receive the support of the North Carolina Medical Center Board of Trustees and UNC - Chapel Hill School of Medicine. In addition to his work as an ophthalmologist, Dr. Sikes has been a co-director of patient care at the University of South Carolina Health Science Center and enjoys the opportunity to lead his practice with his wife, Carol, a pediatric dentist.
When Dr. Gropper is not working in his office, he likes to laugh and find balance in life, and he enjoys being a pediatric dentist and orthodontist because there is always something new to learn and he enjoys learning it. He first came to his chiropractor's office to relieve an acute back injury while at work and loves to see him. The care he and his team provide is great for solving problems and maintaining overall health. When he is not working at the office or at home with his wife Carol, they enjoy their family and pets.
